Residential Addiction Treatment
Painted Grove Recovery provides residential addiction treatment in Louisville, Kentucky — treatment you live in, with nursing staff on site around the clock.
If you searched for inpatient rehab, this is probably what you meant
Most people searching for inpatient treatment are not asking about a licence type. They are asking for somewhere to sleep, with staff there overnight, away from whatever makes using easy. That is residential treatment, and it is what we provide.
The terms do differ. Inpatient care is delivered in a hospital, under a hospital licence, with medical staff on hand for acute conditions. Residential treatment is a licensed live-in program with 24/7 nursing staffing but not hospital-level medical care. Painted Grove Recovery is ASAM Level of Care certified by CARF International for residential treatment. It is a residential program, not a hospital.
For most people seeking treatment for a substance use disorder, residential is the appropriate setting. If your situation needs hospital-level care, admissions will tell you that on the call rather than admitting you here.
What residential treatment involves
- Medical detox first, where withdrawal is managed under supervision
- Individual therapy with a licensed therapist
- Group therapy and family therapy
- Cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and motivational interviewing
- Trauma-informed therapy
- Medication-assisted treatment where clinically appropriate
- Relapse prevention and life skills
- Aftercare support and peer-support pathways including SMART Recovery, Refuge Recovery and 12-Step
Length of stay is determined by medical necessity.
What we do not offer
We do not offer partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient or standalone outpatient care, and we do not provide psychiatric services on site or chronic pain management. Where medication for a mental health condition is part of your care, we coordinate with your outside prescriber.
Coverage
Painted Grove Recovery is in network with Kentucky Medicaid and with the plans listed on our paying-for-treatment page. Being in network is a contract between the facility and the payer; it is not a coverage decision. What your plan covers depends on your plan, your plan year and a medical-necessity determination by your insurer. Call admissions and we will verify your benefits with you.
Starting
Admissions answers 24 hours a day at 502.842.1425. Authorization comes back as fast as same day, depending on clinical needs and your plan's requirements.
Frequently asked questions
Is residential treatment the same as inpatient?
Not quite, and the difference is licence-level rather than everyday. Inpatient care is hospital-based under a hospital licence. Residential treatment is a licensed live-in program with nursing staff on site 24/7. Painted Grove Recovery is CARF-certified for residential ASAM levels of care. For most people looking for somewhere to stay while they get treatment, residential is the setting they are describing.
Is there someone there overnight?
Yes. Nursing staff are on site around the clock, and admissions answers 24 hours a day.
